Why is Commissioner Van Shaver showing a photo of an Electrical closet at Eaton Elementary School with children’s desks and chairs, trying to depict an overloaded school so we would support his demented push to overtax us for $115 Million?
Don’t forget, currently per Dec 2024 data, Eaton Elementary has a pupil-teacher ratio of 14.8 (which Tennessee allows from 25-30 pupils per classroom), and also has enrolled 120-“Out of District Students” and 15-“Out of County Students”. I call this lying to the people. What do you say?
This is exactly why Van Shaver and his cohorts need to be flushed from the Commission.
1. According to the National Electric Code (NEC), a clear working space in front of a 480V panel should have a minimum width of 30 inches and a minimum depth of 48 inches.
2. For panels serving 120 to 250 volts, the NEC specifies a minimum clearance of 30 inches in width and 36 inches in depth.
3. OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requires a minimum of 36 inches of clearance from the front of the electrical panel to the nearest obstacle.
The working space should permit the equipment doors or hinged panels to open at least 90°, and the space required by this standard may not be used for storage.
